I wish everyone a very happy, spiritually rewarding, and successful new year.
I attended the new year's day mass in Apapa where I grew up, at Saint Michael's Military Catholic church, Tamandu barracks, Apapa, Lagos state. The Nigerian Army Catholic Chaplain headquarters parish. This is still my parish. I was baptized in this parish in 1976, when I was a baby. However, I started attending regularly from 1984. I also received my Sacrament of first Holy communion here, and was a member of some societies, top of the list was the mass servers association.
My visit to Lagos will never be complete if I don't worship here. And what better time to worship than on new year's day.
Pictures with Reverend Father, Captain Ezema, and Reverend Father Sgt Stephen, who celebrated the mass. And Pauline Hogan Bassey, my childhood friend and sister.
The Parish Priest and Director of the Chaplain, Reverend Father, Brigadier General Maimagani Francis, was not available,
I also stopped nearby at Saint George's Military protestant church, point road, Apapa, Lagos state, to see my childhood friends who are now reverends there. Elder Jackson Jibiya, and his brother Venerable Monday Jibiya.
Happy New year once again.
Signed,
