EASTER 2026 WITH SOME REFLECTIONS.
I wish all Christians a very happy Easter celebration.
May the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which we all celebrate, fill us with the redemption power of the Cross of Calvary, and Heavenly goodness.
REFLECTIONS.
The old testaments testified about the coming of the Messiah, who was to come to Israel.
Some of the prophesies about the messiah includes,
A virgin shall conceive, and bear a son.
He shall be a descendant of David,
He shall be from city of Bethlehem.
He shall be called a Nazarene.
Out of Egypt shall I call my son.
Authority will rest on his shoulders, and He shall be called wonderful, counsellor, Mighty God.
The spirit of the Lord shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom, and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge, and the fear of the Lord.
He was to be the lamb of God, whose sacrifice, shall set Israel, and the world, free from their sins.
For want of space, and time, I will make use of just the above mentioned ones.
All the above prophesies were met, and fulfilled in the life of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. The virgin Mary, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and bore a son, Jesus Christ. Joseph, the husband of Mary was a descendant of David. He was from the city of Bethlehem. He grew up in Nazareth. He was taken to Egypt during the time of Herod, and by the order of the Lord, He was called out of Egypt, and back to Israel, after the death of Herod. All authority rest on his shoulders, and he was called, teacher, rabbi, master, son of the most high God, King of Israel, son of David, etc.
The spirit of God rested on him, and he performed signs and wonders, raising the dead, healing, casting out demons, feeding the multitudes, etc, and He was filled with wisdom, knowledge, fear of God, etc.
He was born in a manger, which signifies lamb, for sacrifice. And He was crucified on the Cross of Calvary, even though he was blameless.
All the above, were clear pointers that Jesus Christ was the Messiah prophesied about, in the old testament.
On good Friday when the Jews gathered to have Jesus crucified, it won't be wrong to say that, some were there to have him killed, because of their wickedness, jealousy, evil and hardened hearts, etc. And some who were aware of the mysteries of God, and Christ, were there, to see the holy, and blameless lamb of God, sacrificed, by the wicked and ignorant generation. E.g, Mary the mother of Jesus, John the disciple, etc, Just the way it had been prophesied ages ago, and Jesus himself talked about his death and resurrection, to his disciples.
At this point, I want all humanity to understand God's wisdom here. The ignorant, and wicked Jews, wanted to kill Jesus Christ, because they were evil, jealous, wicked, haters of truth, etc. However, through this evil plan of theirs, God chose to use it, to offer a perfect, and most holy sacrifice, of the lamb of God, to save Israel, and the whole world, including those who crucified him.
He was crucified for the transgressions of the world. But on the third day he rose again from the dead, for the greater glory of God, and salvation of mankind.
A sacrifice of life requires death. And in this case, Jesus Christ was crucified by the Roman soldiers, at the request of the Jewish leaders. Invariably, this means that, the Romans, were the priests of the day, who carried out this most holy sacrifice. And when one of the Roman soldiers pierced his side, water, and blood, gushed out. This can indirectly be called, the blood, and water, of the second convenant, of God with the Israelites, and the world, to bring light, life, and salvation to the gentiles and the whole world.
This can clearly lead us to the bold facts of Christianity, which Easter signifies.
The first church on earth is the Roman Catholic church, which gave birth to the Bible, with the old, and new testaments. Other churches came afterwards.
Simon Peter, the apostle of whom Jesus Christ said, You are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, was eventually crucified in Rome, same with apostle Paul, who wrote most of the books of the new testament.
If Christ had not died, buried, and raised on the third day, there would have been no Christianity, and a fulfilment of the old testament prophesies, about the Messiah.
He rose again on the 3rd day.
They were 3 crosses on the hills of Calvary when Jesus Christ was crucified.
3 wise men visited Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in the manger when he was born.
When a son was to be promised to Abraham, 3 men visited him and Sarah.
God told moses, "I Am the I AM that I AM, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob" (3 persons).
The laws and all the ordinances of the Jews, probably totals 603.
Even the tribes of Israel are 12, which is a multiple of 3.
The children of Israel, were in Egypt for 430 years, before God set them free from Pharaoh.
The sum of the first census of the Israelites, as ordered by God, in chapter one of the book of numbers, was 603, 550.
And on the cross, Pontius Pilate, the roman governor of Israel, wrote; Jesus of Nazareth King of Israel, he wrote this in 3 languages, Hebrew, Latin, and Greek.
God has always there with humans, giving knowledge, at the appointed time. Can you all see, the number 3, from the beginning?
Another book of numbers, for knowledge, from ages past.
God is one, but 3 persons in one God. Not two, or 3 Gods, but just one, in Trinity. We are humans, and not God, therefore, we can be limited by human level of understanding of these mysteries.
Let those who have ears listen.
Christ was crucified, and buried, but he rose again on the 3rd day. Alleluia!!!
Happy Easter to everyone, because there is no greater love than this.
Signed,
C.I.O.W.
Chibuzor Igwe Ojeje William.
